Privacy Policy - Meyro
This policy applies to the Meyro Android app and related services.
1. Who we are
Meyro is a vehicle management and reminder app for service history, maintenance reminders, VIN capture and basic vehicle assistance.

2. What this app does
Meyro helps users record and manage information about their vehicle, service history, maintenance reminders, photos, VIN details and basic vehicle questions.
The current tester build does not include paid Premium features, live OBD2 connection, engine sound diagnosis, garage comparison, vehicle valuation or automatic repair cost estimates.
3. Data we collect
Account data
- Email address, if you create or secure an account with email.
- Firebase user identifier.
- Anonymous session identifier if you use the app before securing an account.
Vehicle data
- Vehicle name, make, model, year, mileage and type.
- Engine information if entered.
- Registration plate if entered.
- VIN if entered or scanned.
- MOT, tax or UK vehicle details if entered or retrieved through configured services.
- Service history, maintenance reminders and notes that you choose to add.
Photos and camera data
If you add a vehicle photo, the app stores the selected image in Firebase Storage under your user account.
If you use VIN scanning or take a vehicle photo, the app uses the device camera. Camera access is used only for the action you request.
Microphone and voice data
The tester build includes a voice input feature for asking basic vehicle questions. The microphone is used only when you press the voice button.
The tester build does not use the microphone for engine sound diagnosis.
Notifications
The app may ask permission to send local notifications for maintenance reminders. Reminder notifications are scheduled on your device.
Diagnostic and assistant data
If you ask the assistant a question, the app may process your question with vehicle context such as mileage, MOT status or reminders. Any online diagnostic processing must go through backend services and must not expose secret API keys inside the mobile app.
4. Why we use this data
- Create and manage your account.
- Save your vehicles and service history.
- Restore your data when you sign in again.
- Show maintenance reminders and send local reminder notifications.
- Scan or save VIN information.
- Save vehicle photos that you choose to add.
- Answer basic vehicle questions.
- Improve app reliability and diagnose technical issues.
5. Legal basis
Depending on your location, we process data because it is necessary to provide the app features you request, because you consent to optional features such as camera, microphone, notifications and photos, because we have a legitimate interest in app security and reliability, or because we may need to comply with legal obligations.
6. Where data is stored
The app uses Firebase services, including Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Storage, Firebase Cloud Functions where backend features are enabled, and Firebase App Check where configured.
Firebase services are provided by Google. Data may be processed on Google infrastructure according to Google Firebase terms and policies.
7. Sharing data
We do not sell your personal data.
Data may be processed by service providers needed to run the app, including Google Firebase, Google Play services, OpenAI only if online assistant or diagnostic functions are enabled through backend services, and official vehicle data providers only if a supported lookup feature is configured and you request it.
The current tester build does not include paid Premium purchases.
8. Permissions used
- Camera: VIN scanning and vehicle photos.
- Microphone: voice input for the assistant.
- Notifications: maintenance reminder alerts.
- Internet: account, cloud storage and backend services.
Bluetooth is not used in the current tester MVP.
9. Data retention
Your account data, vehicles, service records, reminders and photos are kept while your account remains active or until you delete them.
If you delete a vehicle, related service records and reminders may also be deleted. If you delete your account through the app, the app attempts to delete your saved user data from Firebase.
Some technical logs may remain for a limited period for security, fraud prevention, debugging or legal compliance.
10. Your choices and rights
- Add, edit or delete vehicles.
- Add, edit or delete service records.
- Add, edit or delete reminders.
- Remove a vehicle photo.
- Sign out or reset your password.
- Request account deletion through the app or through the account deletion request page.
- Revoke camera, microphone or notification permissions in your device settings.
Depending on your location, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data.
11. Children
Meyro is intended for drivers and vehicle owners. It is not directed at children.
12. Security
The app uses Firebase Authentication and security rules to separate user data by account. Firebase Storage rules restrict vehicle photos to the authenticated user account.
No system can be guaranteed completely secure. Users should avoid entering unnecessary sensitive information into free-text notes or assistant questions.
13. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the app changes. The effective date at the top will be updated when material changes are made.
14. Current tester-build limits
The current tester build is a pre-release version. Some planned future features are not active, including live OBD2 connection, engine sound diagnosis, paid Premium subscription, garage comparison, automatic repair cost estimates, automatic vehicle valuation, and purchase or resale assistant.
These features should not be considered available until they are implemented, tested and documented.
